Description:
A digital identity program that issues unique, verifiable IDs to all registered AFAN members. This combats factional claims and enables farmers to access subsidised inputs, loans, and government programs.

Women in Agribusiness Empowerment (WIA)

Description:
Targeted training, micro-grants, and market linkages for female farmers. Focuses on vegetable production, poultry, and value-added processing (e.g., shea butter, cassava flour).

Status: 
Active | Location: Northern & Southern Nigeria (pilot: Kaduna, Oyo, Enugu)

Post-Harvest Loss Reduction Initiative

Description:
Provision of hermetic storage bags, solar dryers, and mobile cold storage units to reduce post-harvest losses. Also trains farmers on proper handling and storage techniques.

Status:
Ongoing | Location: Rice and tomato belts (Kebbi, Nasarawa, Kano, Kaduna)

Youth in Agriculture Mentorship (YAM)

Description:
A 6-month intensive program pairing young aspiring farmers (18–35) with experienced AFAN members. Includes land access support, startup inputs, and digital farming training.

Status:
Pilot completed; scaling up | Location: 6 geo-political zones (one state per zone)

Climate-Smart Agriculture (CSA) Extension

Description:
Promotion of drought-tolerant crops, early warning systems, and flood-resilient farming techniques. Also distributes weather stations and trains community-based agro-meteorology agents.

Ongoing | Location: Drought-prone and flood-prone areas (Borno, Yobe, Adamawa, Delta, Bayelsa)

AFAN Cooperative Marketplace (Digital & Physical)

Description:
An integrated platform where AFAN members can sell directly to buyers (processors, exporters, retailers) at fair prices, bypassing exploitative middlemen. Includes escrow payments and quality grading.

Pilot phase | Location: Online (national) + physical hubs in Lagos, Kano, Port Harcourt

Policy & Budget Advocacy Watch

Description:
A citizen-led monitoring platform that tracks government agricultural budgets, subsidy releases, and policy implementation. Farmers can report issues and receive alerts on legislative actions affecting them.
